Your Content (sometimes referred to as Contributions) are the different types of information you create and files you upload in Totara Social. You can choose to share your content with other people or groups.

Understanding content

There are many different types of content you can make. You can access your content via the My content link in the left-hand navigation bar. This will take you to a page that has a central section listing all of your content, you can filter by all your content, content you've shared, or only private content.

There is also a panel where you can filter the types of content you wish to see by checking the box alongside the desired content type and then clicking Apply

You will also notice another dropdown menu for Sort by so that you can decide how to order the content. You can sort by TitleType, or Most recent for all content types.

There is also a large Create button which acts as a dropdown to allow you to choose the type of content you wish to create.

Mentions

It is possible to tag someone in a post by mentioning them, similar to at mentioning (also referred to as @ mentioning) on social media platforms. To do this type the symbol followed by the name of the person you want to mention (this could be yourself), an auto-complete option should appear for the users and you can click this to add it in.

You can tag yourself or others via mentions in updates (share something) or group forum posts.

This allows inappropriate material to be reported to the tenant administrator and appropriate action taken such as removing the material and suspend the person who created the objectionable material.

Reporting objectionable material

You can report content that you have access to as objectionable when you think it is offensive, inappropriate, or otherwise violates the terms and conditions of the site. Individual content items, e.g. files, and blog posts, can be reported as objectionable.

To report objectionable content you will first need to locate the item of content:

  1. Click the Report icon (a flag, except in forum posts where it is a cog).
  2. Add text in the Complaint box.
  3. Select Notify administrator.

It is also possible to report objectionable material for pagesideas, questions, blogs, files and forums (flag icon).

After you have made a complaint and the matter has been resolved you can notify the admin by withdrawing the complaint:

  1. Select the item with the complaint (this will be shown as Reported).
  2. Select Withdraw complaint.
