Totara contains a lot of powerful functionality as standard, but you may want to extend your site by adding additional features.

Plugins

For starters, you can add extra features using plugins, which can be manually installed if required. For example, you can connect external portfolios using a number of portfolio plugins. You can also use the filters plugin to determine how user-generated text is treated, such as censoring inappropriate language, automatically linking activity names, or converting emoticons to images. Furthermore, you can connect external systems using the web services plugin.

Additional settings

You can set up Totara Connect to allow single sign-on across multiple instances of Totara, making it easier for your users to manage their login details.

There are also a number of configurable features built into Totara, which can be turned on and off by Site Administrators. Administrators can also enable a range of experimental settings, although it is recommended that you test these on a test server before enabling them on your live site.

Additionally, you can now make your site accessible and optimised on smartphones using the Totara Mobile app.
